Tato práce pojednává o ruském náboženském a existencialistickém mysliteli Lvu Šestovovi, snaží se čtenáři nejen představit Šestovovu filosofii, ale také krátce pojednává o ruské filosofii obecně, snaží se charakterizovat základní rysy ruské ideje, vysvětluje rozdíly mezi ruskou a evropskou filosofií. Podrobněji jsou v této práci rozebrána dvě Šestovova díla ? Apoteóza vykořeněnosti a Athény a Jeruzalém, na nichž jsou zdůrazňovány typické rysy Šestovovy filosofie. Závěr je věnován vlivu Šestova na existenciální filosofii, především ve Francii, a podobnosti filosofie Šestova a Kierkegaarda.This thesis is concerned with Russian religious and existentialist thinker Lev Shestov. The thesis does not only introduce Shestov's philosophy to a reader, but it also briefly discusses the Russian philosophy in general, characterizes the basic features of the Russian idea, and it explains the differences between the Russian and European philosophy. Two Shestov's works are analyzed in details in this thesis- The Apotheosis of Groundlessness and Athens and Jerusalem. The typical features of Shestov's philosophy are accented in this analysis. The conclusion discusses Shestov's influence on existential philosophy, especially in France, and the similarity of philosophy of Shestov and Kierkegaard.
