Tato diplomová práce srovnává dvě novely, Kreutzerovu sonátu L.N.Tolstého a stejnojmennou novelu nizozemské autorky Margriet de Moorové. Za pomoci metod komparativní analýzy a interpretace se práce snaží porovnat především z hlediska naratologického a tematického několik prvků výše uvedených novel. V oblasti srovnání naratologických prvků se jedná zejména o charakterizaci postav, tempo a narativní strukturu vyprávění. V této oblasti lze konstatovat jasně identifikovatelné rozdíly, které jsou podpořeny také interpretačně. Ačkoliv se obě knihy shodují v typologii postav, jsou jednotlivé dvojice postav rozdílně charakterizované. Co se týče tempa vyprávění, toto má překvapivě vliv na celkové vyznění obou knih, stejně jako struktura vyprávění. Další zkoumanou oblastí je možnost komparace těchto dvou knih v kontextu témat, která nebyla doposud ve spojitosti s oběma novelami popsána. Na základě textové analýzy a interpretace jednotlivých motivů se práce v tomto bodě snaží dokázat, že obě Kreutzerovy sonáty lze porovnat v kontextu témat jako cesta jako matafora a slepota ? ať už fyzická nebo metaforická.This paper compares two novellas: The Kreutzer Sonata by Leo Tolstoy, and a novella of the same name, written by a Dutch author, Magriet de Moor. By using the methods of comparative analysis, as well as means of literary interpretation, the paper aims at comparing selected features of the novellas, especially from the perspective of comparing their narratives and themes. Where narratology aspects are being considered, attention is especially paid to the characteristics of literary characters, the differences and similarities in pace, as well as the structures of narration. Differences in the above stated aspects can clearly be identified and supported by means of relevant literary interpretations. Although both novellas share common grounds in the typology of characters, the particular pairs of characters are characterized in different ways. Concerning the pace of narration, this has a surprisingly prominent influence on the overall impression that both novellas give. Equally so, the different structure of narration plays an important role. Finding the plausibility of comparison in contexts of themes that until now have not been linked is yet another aspect of the paper. Based on the textual analysis as well as literary interpretation of the particular motives, the paper attempts to demonstrate that both Kreutzer sonatas can be compared thematically in the following respects: journey as a metaphor and blindness ? be it the pathological or metaphorical one.
