Tato diplomová práce shrnuje a popisuje v současné době dostupné klasifikační metody kvantitativních dat v geografických informačních systémech. Dostupnost metod byla testována v šesti GIS programech. Tři byly komerční (ArcGIS 9.3, Geomedia Professional 6.0 a AutoCAD Map 3D 2009) a zbylé programy byly open source (GRASS 6.4.0, Quantum GIS 1.0.1 a uDig 1.1.0-SC3). Všechny tyto programy byly porovnávány s ohledem na klasifikační metody. Hlavním kritériem byl počet implementovaných metod. Vhodnost užití metod byla testována pro dvě sady dat s logaritmickým a normálním rozdělením. Metodou bylo vizuální hodnocení klasifikačních metod. Dále byla implementována nová klasifikační metoda (mediánová kumulační klasifikace) do ArcGIS 9.3. Byl napsán skript v jazyce MS Visual Basic 6.3.This Diploma Theses summarizes and describes the classification methods of the quantitative data in the geographical information systems that are available in present days. The accessibility of the methods was proved in six GIS programs. Three of them were commercial (ArcGIS 9.3, Geomedia Professional 6.0 and AutoCAD Map 3D 2009) and the rest of them was open sources (GRASS 6.4.0, Quantum GIS 1.0.1 and uDig 1.1.0-SC3). All of these programs were compared with regard to the classificaton methods. The main criterion was the number of the implemented methods. The suitability of the methods use was tested for two sets of data with logarithmic and normal distribution. The method was visual evaluation of classifiation methods. The new classification method (Median Cumulative Classification) was implemented to the ArcGIS 9.3. The script was written in the MS Visual Basic 6.3.
