Cílem této práce je srovnání metodologických východisek H. Blumera a C. Geertze. V jednotlivých kapitolách jsou postupně představeny biografické informace o obou autorech, myšlenkové tradice ze kterých vycházeli, teorie obou autorů (na které je kladen největší důraz) a srovnání metodologických východisek autorů v bodech: vztah sociolog či antropolog a objekt výzkumu, objekt interpretace, techniky zkoumání, problém zobecnění. V závěru práce jsou zrekapitulovány a vyjádřeny největší rozdíly mezi těmito autory.The aim of this work is to compare the methodological resources of H. Blumer and C. Geertz. In the individual chapters, the biographies of both authors, intellectual traditions in which they continued, theories of both authors (which we emphasize most), comparison of methodological resources of both authors concerning: the relationship between sociologist or anthropologist and the research object, object of interpretation, research methods and the problem of generalization are gradually introduced. At the end of the work, the greatest differences between these authors are expressed and revised.
