Práce se zabývá čtyřmi povídkami brazilského autora Josého J. Veigy. V první části analyzuji povídky z literárního hlediska a představuji základní charakteristiku autorova stylu, následuje překlad zmíněných povídek do češtiny a v poslední části komentuji problémy vzniklé během překladu, překladatelské postupy a kulturní a mimojazykové rozdíly, které bylo nutno převést do českého prostředí.The theme of this thesis is the commented translation of José J. Veiga?s short stories. I chose four of his short stories that present typical features of the author?s style. The thesis is divided into three thematic parts. In the first one I present the author, his works and his style and I analyze the four selected stories to give account of the features in order to make the translation easier. The second part of this work is the translation of the stories from Brazilian Portuguese to Czech. The third one is a commentary of this translation. I analyze the processes of translation used and the transformation of the Brazilian reality to a comprehensible image for a Czech reader.
