Cílem práce bylo podat základní obecné informace o tancích smrti, tedy kde a kdy se tance objevily poprvé, jakou měly podobu a základní myšlenku. Široká škála tanců byla poté omezena jen na české prostředí raného novověku. Pramennou základnu práce tvoří čtyři díla, která jsme analyzovali a následně nejdříve obecně a pak na jednou vybraném příkladu porovnali. Jako další cíl jsme vytýčili vyhledat co nejvíce dalších památek (literárních a výtvarných), které s myšlenkami tance operují. Široká škála pramenů nám poskytla prostor pro jejich analýzu.The goal of the paper was to present the basic information about the Dances of Death including where and when they appeared for the first time, what their form was and what their basic idea was. Later, we reduced the broad spectrum of the dances and focused on those in the early period of the Kingdom of Bohemia. Our sources consisted of four creations which we analyzed first in general form and then in one selected example. Our next target was to find out most of the other relics both literary and graphic containing the ideas of Dances of Death. The wide variety of the sources allowed us to analyze it.
