Práce pojednává o stáří jako o poslední fázi lidského života se všemi jeho biologickými, psychologickými a sociálními aspekty, zabývá se demografickými důsledky a prognózami týkajícími se stárnutí populace. Druhá kapitola popisuje změny, které souvisí s novou rolí seniora a uvádí oblasti, ve kterých jsou senioři omezeni či znevýhodněni. Empirickou část tvoří výsledek průzkumu, který zjišťoval znevýhodněnost několika seniorů z Olomouckého regionu.The thesis describes the old age as the last period of human life together with all its biological, psychological and social consequences. It also concerns about the demographical effects and the related prognoses of the aging population. The second chapter treats changes connected with the new role of a senior and then it reffers to situations in which the senior citizens are restricted or handicapped. The empirical part deals about survey ascertaining the life quality and disadvantages of several senior citizens in the region of Olomouc.
