Magisterská diplomová práce s názvem Mediální satira ve filmech Billyho Wildera se zabývá obrazem médií ve filmech amerického filmového režiséra Billyho Wildera. V úvodní části práce jsem zkoumala teoretický koncept satirického žánru a snažila se nalézt vhodnou definici satiry. V další části je představena stručná historie filmové satiry a charakterizována vybraná satirická filmová díla. Jako metodologii jsem zvolila práci Northropa Frye, Anatomie kritiky. Pracovala jsem zejména s esejemi "Archetypální kritika: Teorie mýtů" a "Historická kritika: Teorie modů". Na základě Fryovy kategorizace žánrů a jednotlivých fází jsem analyzovala pět filmů z Wilderovy filmografie, a to: Sunset Blvd. (1950), Eso v rukávu (Ace in the Hole/The Big Carnival, 1951), Raz, dva, tři (One, Two, Three, 1961), Na titulní straně (The Front Page, 1974) a Fedora (1978).My M. Thesis named Media Satire in the films of Billy Wilder deals with the five satirical films of the American film director Billy Wilder: Sunset Blvd. (1950), Ace in the Hole/The Big Carnival (1951), One, Two, Three (1961), The Front Page (1974) and Fedora (1978). First, I have tried to find suitable definition of the genre of satire. Second, I tried to give a little information about the history of film satire. Few satirical films are described as well. Third, I tried to analyze Billy Wilder´s films mentioned above. I worked with Northrop Frye´s The Anatomy of Criticism. Frye in his text gave detailed description of the literary genres (tragedy, romance, comedy, satire with irony) I worked with.
