Tato práce je zaměřena na problematiku legislativních pravomocí Evropského parlamentu. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, zda proces posilování legislativních pravomocí Evropského parlamentu vedl ke zvýšení jeho vlivu a tím i postavení v rámci legislativního procesu. Za tímto účelem se zabývá především rozborem jednotlivých fází posilování kompetencí. Dalším cílem je nalézt širší souvislosti v otázce legislativních pravomocí Evropského a zjistit, zda Evropský parlament v současnosti plní roli první komory. Hlavní přínos této diplomové práce můžeme spatřovat v jejím dokázání, že federalistické myšlenky měly velký vliv na povahu a fungování Evropského parlamentu.This thesis deals with the legislative powers of the European Parliament. The aim of the thesis is to find whether the process of strengthening the legislative powers of the European Parliament led to an increase of its influence, and thus its position in the legislative process. To this end, the analysis deals mainly with various stages of strengthening the competencies. Next aim is to find a broader context in the question of legislative powers of the European Parliament to determine whether the European Parliament has now actually plays the role of the first chamber. This thesis is beneficial in proving, that a federal ideas had great influence on the nature and functioning of the European Parliament.
