Objektivita patří při úvahách o kvalitách žurnalistiky k nejfrekventovanějším pojmům. Cílem této práce je zhodnotit její hranice a dostupnost ve zpravodajství a publicistice. Proto bylo nezbytné nejprve shrnout a prozkoumat klíčové pojmy, jež se považují za elementy objektivity. Za východiska jsem zvolil různé teze z teorie masové komunikace, ale i filozofie nebo sociálních věd. Kromě praktických příkladů zkoumá tato práce rovněž aspekty objektivity v žurnalistické praxi, jakož i možnosti regulace mediálních organizací, jež vychází z nich samotných, z profesních organizací i zvenčí, tedy od publika nebo státních aparátů.When thinking about qualities of journalism, objectivity ranks among the most frequented terms. The aim of this diploma thesis is to rate limits and availability of objectivity in news reporting and journalism. Therefore, it is necessary to sum up and examine the key terms that are considered to be the elements of objectivity first. As a starting point I selected several theses from the mass cultural theory, philosophy and social sciences. Apart form practical examples this work inspects aspects of objectivity in journalistic practice as well as the possibilities of regulations of media organizations that comes out either from themselves or from external professional organizations, which is the audience or the state apparatus.
