Předkládaná práce se věnuje významu Jindřicha Pravečka jako houslisty, dirigenta a hudebního skladatele. V úvodní části popisuje jeho studia houslové hry a koncertní činnost. Dále ukazuje, jak Praveček jako kapelník a skladatel vyrostl z konkrétních podmínek doby. Jak reagoval jako muzikant na dobové potřeby a jak sám ovlivňoval prostředí, jemuž zasvětil svou činnost. Pro dokreslení představ o jeho životě a práci je zde několik vzpomínek lidí, se kterými pracoval. V rámci této bakalářské práce byl vypracován kompletní seznam známých skladeb. Jsou zde uvedeny analýzy vybraných skladeb a popis jeho teoretických prací o instrumentaci dechových hudeb. V příloze jsou zobrazeny doposud nepublikované dokumenty a fotografie z Pravečkova života.The presented work is devoted to the significance of Jindřich Praveček (June 28, 1909 Výprachtice ? February 11, 2000 Pardubice) as being a violinist, a conductor and a composer at the same time. The introduction part describes performing and the violin studies under the direction of Stanislav Ondříček, later also studying at Prague´s Conservatory where led by Jaroslav Kocián, composition studies in the charge of Jaroslav Řídký and Pavel Dědeček taught him to conduct. It also shows how Praveček, as a bandmaster and a composer, a conductor, an experienced pedagogue of military and civil colleges, as well as an adviser in arts, a festival and competition member of brass bands juries within his country and abroad, was brought up in a certain time period and the influence on the conditions and how the brass music was influenced by his contribution. It reflects how he reacted to the period needs and influenced the enviroment he was devoted to. To picture his life and work closely, there are a few people he worked with and their reminiscence. Within this frame of work, a complete list of all well-known pieces of his has been established, such as The Carnival Life, Humoresque for Clarinet and The Czech Dance. Not only the analysis of selected pieces are stated, but also the description of his theoretical works concentrating on brass music instrumentation. To mention some of them it would be The Brass Band, Instrumentationslehre für Blasorchester, About the Work with the Youth Brass Band, Inštrumentácia pre dychovů hudbu. Finally, the appendix views documents that have not yet been published and further photographs from Praveček´s life.
