Práce v první části vymezuje literární a filmový subžánr urban fantasy, představuje stručně jeho historii, tvůrce a základní díla. Druhá klíčová část je věnována analýze díla spisovatele a filmového scénáristy Neila Gaimana v kontextu celého žánru. Základem práce je tematická analýza typologie hrdinů a proměny jejich charakterů v závislosti na žánrově specificky vymezeném prostředí, ve kterém hrdinové žijí. Doplňujícím tématem je analýza filmového stylu režisérů, kteří se ujali zpracování Gaimanových scénářů.In the first part the work outlines the literary and film subgenre of urban fantasy, presenting its history, authors and principal works. The second key part analyses the works of the author and screenwriter Neil Gaiman in the context of the whole genre. The basis of the work is a thematic analysis of the typology of the protagonists, the development of their personalities in relation to the genre-specific setting they live in. The supplementary topic is the analysis of the film style of the directors who put Gaiman's novel on screen.
