Práce se zabývá vybranými aspekty života osob s depresí. Tato práce je teoreticky i prakticky orientovaná. Teoretickou část tvoří analýza dostupné literatury. Jsou zde rozebrány druhy deprese a členění deprese dle Mezinárodní klasifikace nemocí. Dále tuto část tvoří možné příčiny a příznaky deprese, jsou zde i popsány možnosti léčby deprese. Nechybí zde ani pohled na sociální práci s duševně nemocnými a také to, jaký sociální dopad deprese může mít. Praktická část obsahuje výzkum, cílem výzkumu, bylo zmapovat jak deprese ovlivňuje život člověka - jednalo se např. o to jak deprese ovlivnila vztahy v rodině a jiné vztahy, jak se projevuje deprese v rovině fyzické, jestli se výskyt nemoci projevil na rodinném rozpočtu rodiny atd. Výzkumný vzorek tvořili osoby, které se léčí s depresí, jednalo se celkem o 14 respondentů, z toho bylo sedm žen a stejný počet mužů. S uvedenými respondenty byl proveden polostrukturovaný rozhovor v časovém období konec roku 2007- leden 2009. Následná syntéza získaných poznatků by měla vytvořit ucelený přehled o této problematice.Work deals with the aspects of life of an individual suffering from depression. The work is both theoretically and practically oriented. Theoretical part has been formed by analysing the literature available. I divide depression into different kinds and itemize it according to the Internetional classification of diseases. Furthermore there are causes and symptoms of depression and the chances to treat this disease. Last but not least there is an outlook onto the social work with the patients and the social consequences of depression. The practical part covers the research. Its aim was to map effects of the depression on the life of man: for instance the relationships within a family or other personal relationships, the physical effects of depression, influence on the family budget, etc. The research sample was made by people suffering from depression, there were 14 respondents (7men and 7 women). The semistructured interview with them took place in the period of the late 2007 to January 2009. The synthesis of the gained knowledge that follows should create the summary of the problem.
