Práce Člověk a onkologické onemocnění pojednává o tom, co onkologické onemocnění přináší lidem, kteří se s ním setkají: pacientům, jejich blízkým a zdravotníkům. Problematika onkologického onemocnění je v teoretické části rozebraná z hlediska medicínského, část je věnována lékařské etice, vztahům mezi nemocným a zdravotníky, prožívání a zvládání nemocného, psychoterapeutickým metodám a technikám, které ovlivňují tělesnou a psychickou pohodu, vztahům mezi nemocným a blízkými a prožívání blízkých, jejich chování a způsobům podpory nemocného. Praktická část práce ověřuje pomocí strukturovaného interview potřebnost a užitečnost informací a rad, které jsou uvedeny v Psychologickém průvodci pro onkologicky nemocné (Romaňáková 2003) z pohledu pacientů, blízkých a zdravotníků.The publication Man And The Cancer focuses on the impact and implications of the oncological disease on the people under its influence: the patients, their family and friends and the paramedics. Theoretical sections analyze problems of oncological disease from the medical point of view; there are chapters dedicated to the medical ethics, relations between patients and paramedics, coping of people facing cancer, psychotherapeutic methods and practices improving well-being, relations between the patients and their family and the coping of the family, their behavior and ways of support of the ill person. The practical section uses a structured interviews to gather the data about the necessity and usefulness of information and suggestions from the Psychological guide for oncological patients brochure (Romaňáková 2003) from the point of view of patients, their family and paramedics.
