Tato práce se věnuje vztahům Evropské unie a Ruska od rozpadu SSSR po energetickou krizi v roce 2009. Od počátku 90. let došlo k vývoji postavení obou aktérů v mezinárodních vztazích. EU se rozšířila o dvanáct nových členů a Rusko posílilo svoji pozici v mezinárodním prostředí. I přes rozvoj spolupráce existují oblasti, ve kterých jsou očekávání partnerů rozdílná. Mezi události, které ovlivnily vzájemné vztahy, patří východní rozšíření, energetické krize 2006 a 2009 a válka v Gruzii v roce 2008.This work deals with the relations between the European Union and Russia from the dissolution of the USSR till the energy crisis in 2009. From the beginning of the 90´s the position of both partners have developed. The EU has enlarged of twelve new members and Russia has strengthened its position in international relations. There are still some areas where the expectations of the partners differ. The events that have influenced the relations are the eastern enlargement, the energy crisis 2006 and 2009 and the war in Georgia 2008.
