Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou aztéckého náboženství, poukazuje na jeho pestrost a složitost. Řeší pohled Aztéků na svět a na život celkově, stejně jako i jejich pojetí člověka a zvířat, osud lidí a také život po smrti. V jednotlivých kapitolách postupně rozebírá panteon, chrámy jako místa uctívání bohů, obětování lidí a nepříliš jasné důvody kanibalismu. Dále práce popisuje nejdůležitější mýty, vysvětluje práci knězů a dva kalendáře, v rychlosti zmiňuje podobnosti s křesťanstvím a nakonec vyjmenovává některé důležité zdroje, které se zabývají Aztéky a jejich náboženským životem.The work deals with the problem of the aztec religion, shows its diversity and complexity. It solves the Aztecs' vision of the world and life in general, as well as their conception of men and animals, human destiny and life after death, too. Gradually, each chapter analyses the pantheon, temples as places of veneration of gods, human sacrifices and not very clear reasons for cannibalism. Later on the work describes the most important myths, explains priests' task and two calendars, briefly mentions some similarities anddifferencies with the christianity and finally names important sources, which deals with the Aztecs and their religious life.
