Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou příčin školního neúspěchu v matematice. Teoretická část seznamuje s pojmy školní úspěch, školní neúspěch a s příčinami školního neúspěchu v matematice. Výzkumné šetření je zaměřeno na postoje žáků VIII. a IX.tříd ZŠ k matematice a na stanoviska učitelů matematiky k příčinám školního neúspěchu v matematice. Dále se zaměřuje na sluchové postižení jako na jednu z příčin neúspěchu v matematice.The diploma work deals with problems of the cause school failure in matematics. Theoretical part gets acquainted with the conceptions like school success, school failure and the cause of school failure in matematics. Experimental investigation is intented on the attitude of the pupils VIII. and IX. classes in basic school to the matematics and is intented on the position of the teachers matematics to the cause of school failure in matematics. Further is intented on hearing handicap like one of the cause of failure in matematics.
