Tato diplomová práce se zabývá způsobem překladu kategorie určenosti v češtině -Zda je tato kategorie přeložitelná a popřípadě jak. Nejprve jsem zpracovala přehled dosavadního bádání v oblasti kategorie určenosti jak z pohledu anglických tak českých studií. Z těchto teorií jsem si vybrala teorii navrženou Andrew Chestermanem a její přístup jsem se pokusila aplikovat na češtinu. Hlavními závěry je, že tato teorie je při zkoumání kategorie určenosti v češtině použitelná a tedy že je kategorie určenosti do češtiny přeložitelná.This diploma thesis focuses on the translation of the category of determination into Czech - whether it is translatable and if yeas how. First part elaborates on English as well as Czech theories in the field of the category of determination. Out of these theories I chose the theory of Andrew Chesterman and tried to apply the approach on Czech. The two main conclusions are that the theory is applicable to Czech and that the category of determination is translatable into Czech
