Autorka pojednává o způsobech zobrazení ženské hrdinky v českých filmech ze sociologického a genderového hlediska s důrazem na filmové debuty mezi léty 2000 až 2005. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních kapitol. V první části vymezuje pojem gender a uvádí podoby a důsledky genderových stereotypů, zabývá se historickým vývojem postavení žen ve společnosti a jeho současným stavem. Druhá kapitola je stručným exkurzem do historie české kinematografie a její filmové hrdinky a třetí přináší podrobnější rozbor ženské hrdinky v pěti filmových debutech (Ene bene, Oběti a vrazi, Divoké včely, Děvčátko, Nevěrné hry).The author of the diploma work focuses on the image of women in Czech films from sociological and gender point of view.The diploma work is divided in to three main chapters. The first chapter deals with gender in general, history of the feminism and the contemporary status of women in the Czech Republic. The second part of the diploma work points out the tradition of displaying heroines from the beginning of Czech cinematography to the present. The last part analyses female characters in five Czech film debuts between years 2000- 2005(Ene bene, Oběti a vrazi, Divoké včely, Děvčátko, Nevěrné hry).
