Irský hudebník Angelo Kelly navrhl a zkonstruoval během let 2003-2005 speciální chromaticky laděnou bicí soupravu, která umožňuje melodickou hru. Autor nazval svůj nový hudební nástroj Piano Drums, protože seřadil chromaticky laděné součásti této soupravy po vzoru klaviatury klavíru. Rovněž zkomponoval skladby určené pro tento nástroj. Cílem této diplomové práce je přinést ucelené pojednání o Piano Drums, historii vzniku nástroje, stavbě nástroje, tvorbě pro Piano Drums, možnostech budoucího vývoje nástroje a dalších souvisejících skutečnostech. Práce zároveň zařazuje Piano Drums do kontextu ostatní hudební činnosti Angela Kellyho.The Irish musician Angelo Kelly developed and constructed a special, chromatically tuned drum kit during the years 2003-2005. This drum kit allows him to play melodically. The author decided to call his new drum kit Piano Drums because he had arranged the chromatically tuned components according to a note placement structure of a piano. He has written some compositions for this new instrument, too. This diploma thesis is tended to be a complex analysis of Piano Drums; it deals with the history of the development of this instrument, the structure of Piano Drums, the compositions written for this instrument, the possibilities of the future progress of Piano Drums and other related facts. This diploma thesis presents Piano Drums in the context of the other Angelo Kelly's musical activities, too.
