Tato práce je zaměřena na použití informačních technologií v hodinách anglického jazyka na druhém stupni základních škol. Teoretická část pojednává o historii a vývoji informačních technologií a jejich použití ve výuce cizích jazyků, o významu počítače a Internetu pro výuku anglického jazyka a naopak. Dále je zde stručně popsána situace v evropském kontextu, jmenovitě ve Velké Británii, v sousedním Polsku, v Maďarsku a v Litvě. V praktické části jsou vyhodnoceny dotazníky, jež byly distribuovány do dvaceti základních škol učitelům anglického jazyka a žákům a které se zabývají souvislostmi mezi anglickým jazykem a aplikací informačních technologií do jeho výuky.This final project concentrates on the use of information technology in lessons of English of the 6-15 age group, whether in 'basic schools' or in the lower years of the so-called '6-year gymnázium' and '8-year gymnázium' (similar to a British grammar school or American high school). The theoretical part concerns the history and development of information technology and its use in language teaching, with the meaning of computers and the Internet for English language teaching and vice-versa. Further, the situation within the European context is briefly described here; namely in Great Britain, in neighbouring Poland, in Hungary and in Lithuania. In the practical part questionnaires which were distributed to twenty basic schools to teachers and pupils are analysed. They are focused on connection between the English language and application of information technology to its teaching.
