Bakalářská práce se zabývá poezií Jana Cauta, básníka z konce 16. století. Pozornost je věnována třem jeho sbírkám a také sbírce, která je badateli za jeho práci považována. Soustředíme se i na překlad básní z latiny do češtiny, to nám mělo pomoci s analýzou a charakteristikou textu. U sbírek vysvětlujeme využité antické motivy a symboliku.This Bachelor thesis focuses on the poetics of Jan Cautus, an author from the end of the 16th century. We have focused on his three collections of poems and one more collection which is believed to have been written by him due to its resemblance to his other confirmed works. The main goal of this work was to introduce Jan Cautus' work and to establish whether he could be considered one of the greater authors at the end of the 16th century despite the decreased popularity of latin humanistic literature. We analyzed and characterized the texts with the help of their translation from Latin language to Czech language.
