Předmětem bakalářské práce je kapela Megadeth a analýza jejich alba Peace Sells but Who's Buying? (1986). Jako první se věnuji vytvoření ucelené definice hudebního stylu thrash metalu, do nějž se Megadeth svou tvorbou zařazuje. Zmiňuji zde také charakteristiky hudby thrash metalu založené na konkrétních hudebně teoretických parametrech. Ve své práci mimo pak již konkrétně také představuji souhrnné informace o skupině, popisuji zběžnou historii od jejího založení po vydání tohoto alba. Jsou zde také jednotliví členové Megadeth v sestavě z doby vzniku alba, se zaměřením na Davea Mustaina. Následně skrze analýzu jednotlivých skladeb z hlediska formy, kinetiky, harmonie a instrumentality přibližuji, v čem je specifický hudební jazyk skupiny Megadeth. V závěru pak shrnuji, v kterých znacích souhlasí výsledek analýzy s hudebními charakteristikami popsanými v definici thrash metalové hudby z předchozí kapitoly.The subject of the bachelor thesis is the band Megadeth and the analysis of their album Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? (1986). At first I am going to create a comprehensive definition of the musical style of thrash metal, which Megadeth's work fits into. I also mention here the characteristics of thrash metal music based on specific music theoretical parameters. Then I will also specifically present summary information about the band, describing a cursory history from its founding to the release of this album. Individual members of Megadeth's lineup from the time of the album are also included, with a focus on Dave Mustaine. Then, through an analysis of each song in terms of form, kinetics, harmony, and instrumentation, I present what makes Megadeth's musical language distinctive. I then conclude by summarizing in which features the result of the analysis agrees with the musical characteristics described in the definition of thrash metal music from the previous chapter.
