Hlavným cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je rozobrať komplexný vzťah herečky Aubrey Plaza k problematike type-castingu a odsledovať, aký efekt mal daný jav na jej kariéru. Aby bola tématika spracovaná čo najkomplexnejšie, jej analýza čerpá z prístupov viacerých filmových teoretikov a teoretičiek, ktorí sa venujú témam spojeným s otázkou súčasnej hviezdnosti. Dôležité zistenie, ktoré práca priniesla bolo, že pojem type-casting, ktorý je často spájaný s výhradne negatívnymi konotáciami, nemusí mať na kariéru len záporný efekt. Hercom dokáže napríklad zabezpečiť relatívnu pracovnú stabilitu v podobe prísunu typovo podobných úloh. Jeho efekt na imidž hviezdy je vo všeobecnosti veľmi individuálny. Následný rozbor vývoja hviezdneho obrazu Aubrey Plaza odhalil, že v jej prípade pôsobil najviac ako motivujúci prvok. Prvotné škatuľkovanie do konkrétneho typu úloh v nej následne podnietilo snahu svojpomocne pretvoriť svoj herecký imidž z komediálnej herečky na všestrannú, ktorá stvárňuje rôznorodé typy postáv. Tento prerod je v práci ilustrovaný na trojici filmových rolí, ktoré sú analyzované s využitím prístupu Richarda Dyera a mimofilmového diskurzu.The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the complex relationship of actress Aubrey Plaza to the issue of type-casting and to trace, what effect the phenomenon had on her career. The topic is examined, by using the approaches of a number of film theorists, who have addressed themes related to the issue of contemporary stardom. An important observation the thesis provided was that the notion of type-casting, which is often associated with exclusively negative connotations, does not necessarily have to have an adverse effect on someone's career. It can also provide actors with relative job stability in the form of a supply of type-casting-like roles. Generally speaking, its effect on a star's image is very individual. The analysis was based upon the development of Aubrey Plaza's star image, and found out that in her case type-casting can be seen as a motivating element. The initial pigeonholing into a particular type of roles subsequently fuelled in her an effort to self-consciously reshape her acting image from a comedic actress to a versatile one, able to portray a diverse range of character types. This transformation is illustrated through a trio of film roles, which are analysed by using Richard Dyer's approach and extra-film discourse.
