V rešeršní části práce jsou popsány geomorfologické a geologické poměry Mohelnické brázdy a přilehlého okolí. Následuje kapitola o výstavbě rybníků v dřívějších dobách a v okolí zájmové oblasti. Z toho plyne i větší mocnost rybničního sedimentu, kdy v Závořickém rybníce byla z vrtů dokumentována maximální mocnost 54 cm a v Leštinském rybníce pouhých 38 cm. The thesis deals with the research of historical ponds near Zábřeh in Moravia. The research part of the thesis describes the geomorphological and geological conditions of the Mohelnická brázda and the surrounding area. This is followed by a chapter on the construction of ponds in earlier times and in the surroundings of the area of interest. Then the history, principles and configurations, or the resolution of the antennas, of the geophysical methods used (ERT and GPR) are described. The work then describes the methods used for high-resolution stratigraphy (magnetic susceptibility, spectral reflectance, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry and grain size analysis). Two ponds located east of Zábřeh were selected for the study. The largest pond in area at the time and the longer functioning of the two studied ponds is Závořický pond, which is mapped on the maps of the I. and II. military mapping. To the south was Leštinský pond, which is only shown on the maps of the I. military mapping. Thanks to laser scanning - LiDAR it was possible to detect sediment aggradation in the pond areas. From the data obtained, a step increase in elevation in the area of extinct ponds is evident. The ERT profiles could be divided into three domains (A, B and C) for both ponds based on the measured resistivity values. The GPR profiles showed the occurrence of three radar facies (RF), with RF1 representing coarse-grained sediment, RF2 representing sands and fine-grained gravels occurring at the bases of the boreholes, and RF3 representing pond sediment. The sediment recovered from the drill cores could be divided into five facies (P1, Ra, Rb, P2 and F) based on lithological composition, physical and chemical properties. The P1 facies was identified as a recent soil based on stratigraphic position and organic material content. The Ra and Rb facies were identified as probably pond sediment based on lower magnetic susceptibility (MS) values, phosphorus content and elevated brightness parameter values, which differed in iron content and redness index (RED) values in the Leštinský (Ra) and Závořický (Rb) ponds. The third facies captured was facies P2, which is characterized by elevated values of MS and organic material content. This facies probably represents the alluvial soil of the pre-pond stage. The facies F, which was identified at the base of each borehole, represents coarse-grained sediment based on increased drilling resistance. The results obtained indicate greater sediment thicknesses in the Zavořický pond, which may be due to the fact that this pond functioned as an active pond for a longer period of time. This also implies a greater thickness of pond sediment, with a maximum thickness of 54 cm documented from boreholes in Závořický pond and only 38 cm in Leštinský pond. The low pond sediment thicknesses may be related to the process of summering, sediment removal or to the original shallow establishment of the ponds. Another aspect may be that most of the ponds were not flow-through but were regulated by ditches or drainage channels.
