Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou politických karikatur publikovaných na webových stránkách China Daily. Práce je členěna na dvě části - teoretickou a praktickou, přičemž v teoretické části se věnuji především objasnění klíčových pojmů, jako je diskurz, soft power a propaganda. Dále také termínům poster, karikatura, target audience a denotace a konotace. Praktická část práce je následně zaměřena na samotný postup výzkumu, který je proveden následujícím způsobem. Nejdříve je zvolen výzkumný vzorek, v tomto případě se jedná o sběr veškerých online posterů publikovaných na webu China Daily za rok 2022, které jsou poté zpracovány jak tematicky, tak časově. Nejčastěji vyobrazovaná témata jsou nakonec zavedena do grafu četnosti. V konečné fázi práce jsou zvolené výzkumné otázky zodpovězeny. Za rok 2022 se ve světě dělo mnoho událostí, které buď přímo či nepřímo ovlivnily samotnou Čínu. Z toho důvodu je zřejmé, že se autoři čínských karikatur na webu China Daily k světovému dění aktuálně vyjadřují a na případná obvinění reagují. Jedná se například o válku na Ukrajině, pokračující boj s Covidem-19, zimní olympijské hry, zvyšující se inflaci, problémy lidských práv a mnohé další. Cílem této práce je tedy pochopit, jakým způsobem pracuje čínská propaganda s čínskými karikaturami, které byly v roce 2022 na tomto webu publikovány a co je jejich hlavním odkazem.The thesis deals with the analysis of political cartoons published on the website of China Daily. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical, the theoretical part focuses on clarifying key concepts such as discourse, soft power and propaganda. Also the terms poster, caricature, target audience and denotation and connotation are explained. The practical part of the theis is aimed at the research process itself, which is carried out in the following way. First, a research sample is selected, in this case it is a collection of all online posters published on the China Daily website in the year of 2022. The most frequent topics are finally converted into the frequency graph and subsequently analyzed in relation to current world events and context and the chosen research questions are answered. During the year 2022, many events took place in the world that either directly or indirectly affected China itself. For that reason, it is obvious that the authors of Chinese cartoons on the China Daily website are currently commenting on world events and reacting to possible accusations. These events include, for example, the war in Ukraine, the ongoing fight against Covid-19, the Winter Olympics, increasing inflation, human rights issues and many others. So the aim of this thesis is to comprehend how Chinese propaganda deals with Chinese cartoons that were published on this website in 2022 and what is their main intention.
