Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou a interpretací prvního dílu knižní série Hraničářův učeň sepsanou autorem Johnem Flanaganem. V úvodu práce pojednává o životě a kariéře australského spisovatele a žánrovém vymezení celé knižní série. Druhá část práce se věnuje analýze a interpretaci prvního dílu, Rozvaliny Gorlanu. Obsahuje charakteristiku a analýzu hlavních postav, vymezení časoprostoru a kompozice díla. Nakonec se práce zaměřuje na stěžejní motivy a vliv autorovy role otce na sepsání knihy, jejíž hlavní hrdina slouží jako prototyp netypického hrdiny.The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and interpretation of the first book from the series The Ranger's Apprentice written by the author John Flanagan. In the introduction, the thesis discusses the life and career of the Australian writer and the genre definition of the entire series. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the analysis and interpretation of the first book, The Ruins of Gorlan. It includes characterization and analysis of the main characters, the definition of space and time, and the composition of the work. Finally, the thesis focuses on the central motifs and the influence of the author's role as a father in the writing of the book, whose protagonist serves as a prototype of the atypical hero.
