Main topic of the thesis was to examine a relationship between stigmatization and suicidality in patients with borderline personality disorders and depressive disorders, were treated in daily treatment center. Suicide is one of the main problems of public health worldwide with at about 800 000 fatalities each year. For measurement of stigmatization was used Stigma of Suicide Attempt questionnaire (STOSA) and for measurement of suicide tendencies was used Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS). Results show significant differences between the groups as for the suicide tendencies measured by Columbia Suicide Rating Scale. Patients with borderline personality disorders (N=42)' have the mean score 57.17 and patients with depression (N=40)' have the mean score 28.04, both groups have different average age but have not statistical significant differences in their values of stigmatization are measured by STOSA. Results of the thesis are in agreement with findings of few published studies indicating that increased tendencies self-mutilation in borderline personality disorder may present a reason why suicidal tendencies in borderline personality disorder are increased in comparison to depressive disorders. Nevertheless recent findings are based on results of few studies and need further research.
