Ergoterapie je rehabilitační obor, který se snaží o obnovení nebo zachování samostatnosti jedince v největší možné míře. V oblasti sociálních služeb, hlavně v domovech pro seniory, má proto ergoterapie velkou možnost uplatnění. V důsledku stárnutí populace dochází k častější diagnostice onemocnění demence. Toto onemocnění omezuje jedince v komunikaci, samostatnosti a tím i v mnoha dalších oblastech života. Přehledová bakalářská práce se zabývá ergoterapií, možnostmi jejího uplatnění v oblasti sociálních služeb a speciálními metodami užívanými při terapii s pacienty s onemocněním demence. Nefarmakologické metody, využívané při intervenci ergoterapeuta, jsou efektivními prostředky pro zmírnění projevů tohoto onemocnění. Některé pomáhají jedinci naplnit potřeby skrze zapojení do smysluplných činností a mnohdy jsou klíčové pro zvýšení kvality života. Nefarmakologické metody mohou pacientům pomoci i při komunikaci s okolním světem. Therefore, occupational therapy has a great potential in the field of social services, especially in homes for the elderly. Due to the ageing of the population, the diagnosis of dementia is becoming more frequent. This disease limits an individual's communication, independence and thus many other areas of life. This bachelor thesis deals with occupational therapy, the possibilities of its application in the field of social services and special methods used in therapy with patients with dementia. Non pharmacological methods, used in the intervention of occupational therapists, are effective means of alleviating the symptomps of this disease. Some help the individual to fulfill needs through engagement in meaningful activities and are frequently crucial for improvement in quality of life.
