Kawaii je v Japonsku veľmi rozšírený koncept, ktorý sa stal neoddeliteľnou súčasťou japonskej kultúry. V prvej kapitole mojej bakalárskej práce čitateľom vysvetlím, čo to kawaii je, použitím niekoľkých definícií a predstavením jeho histórie. Avšak univerzálna definícia kawaii neexistuje. Pre jeho lepšie pochopenie ukážem ako je tento koncept aplikovaný a chápaný v rôznych sférach života. Taktiež analyzujem črty, ktoré spôsobujú, že niečo je kawaii. Každá kapitola bude venovaná inej sfére. Druhá kapitola sa zameria na módu. Veľa módnych značiek v Tokiu a ďalších japonských metropolách má svoje jedinečné štýly, ktoré sa považujú za súčasť kultúry kawaii. Zameranie tretej kapitoly bude na tzv. maid cafés, ktoré sú všeobecne vnímané ako kawaii. V štvrtej kapitole predstavím Hello Kitty, hlavnú reprezentantku kawaii, ktorá pomohla kawaii spopulárniť po celom svete, a tak sa stala najvplyvnejšou figúrou celého konceptu. Hello Kitty sa vyvíja v čase spoločne s kawaii. V závere bakalárskej práce sa pokúsim zosumarizovať črty definujúce kawaii v každej sfére.In Japan, the kawaii concept is widely used and therefore it is a very important aspect of Japanese culture. In the first chapter of my bachelor´s thesis I am going to explain what kawaii is by mentioning a few general definitions and providing readers with a history of this concept. However, there is not an universal definition of this concept. In order to understand it better, I am going to demonstrate how the concept is applied and perceived in various spheres of life. I will also analyse the features that make something kawaii. Each chapter will be dedicated to a different sphere. In the second chapter the focus will be on fashion. Many fashion brands situated in Tokyo and other Japanese cities have their own unique styles considered as part of the kawaii culture. Focus of the third chapter will be on maid cafés which are generally perceived as kawaii. In fourth chapter I will present Hello Kitty, main representative of kawaii, which helped to popularize kawaii all over the world and therefore is the most influential figure of the whole concept. Hello Kitty evolves in time together with kawaii. In the end of the thesis I will try to summarize the features that define kawaii in each sphere.
