Předkládaná práce se soustředí na průsečík dvou dodnes atraktivních oblastí výzkumu - pražské německé literatury a kriminální literatury - jemuž nebyla dosud věnována důkladnější pozornost. Práce si klade dva hlavní výzkumné cíle: zaprvé má nabídnout žánrově specifický obraz 'jiné' (a kvůli její 'triviální povaze' opomíjené) pražské německé literatury; zadruhé má přiblížit trojici dnes již zapomenutých autorů (Louis Weinert-Wilton, Hans Regina von Nack a Edgar Maria Foltin). První část práce se zabývá teorií kriminální literatury: od terminologické klasifikace, přes typické znaky a komponenty kriminálního žánru, až po diskuzi o kriminálním žánru coby součásti triviální literatury. V následující historické části je po zmínění podmínek pro samotný vznik žánru nastíněn vývoj kriminální literatury: od předchůdců a počátků kriminálního žánru až po meziválečnou podobu kriminální literatury. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována německy psané kriminální literatuře. Nejrozsáhlejší část práce se zabývá třemi výše zmíněnými pražskými autory a jejich texty kriminálního žánru. Jelikož se jedná o zapomenuté autory, jsou součástí každého oddílu též informativní kapitoly o jejich životě a díle. Jednotlivá díla zkoumaných autorů jsou podrobena žánrové analýze, opírající se o poznatky z teoretické části práce; zároveň jsou tyto texty na základě komparativního přístupu zasazeny do kontextu soudobé světové kriminální literatury. Srovnávají se nejen se stěžejními díly světových spisovatelů, nýbrž i v rámci zkoumaných pražských autorů mezi sebou, čímž konstrukce onoho žánrově specifického obrazu 'jiné' pražské německé literatury nabývá na šířce a vrstevnatosti. Kapitoly ke zkoumaným autorům jsou proloženy několika exkursy, jež se soustředí na další soudobé (nejen) pražské autory.The presented work focuses on the intersection of two attractive research areas - Prague German literature and crime fiction - which has not yet been given more thorough attention. The work has two main research goals: firstly, it aims to offer a genre-specific image of the 'other' (and because of its 'trivial nature' neglected) Prague German literature; secondly, it aims to bring closer the trio of now-forgotten authors (Louis Weinert-Wilton, Hans Regina von Nack and Edgar Maria Foltin). The first part of the work deals with the theory of crime fiction: from terminological classification, through typical features and components of the criminal genre, to the discussion of the criminal genre as part of trivial literature. In the following historical section, after mentioning the conditions for the emergence of the genre itself, the development of crime fiction is outlined: from the predecessors and beginnings of the crime genre to the interwar form of crime fiction. Special attention is paid to German-written crime fiction. The most extensive part of the work deals with the three aforementioned Prague authors and their texts, belonging to crime fiction. Since these are forgotten authors, each section also includes informative chapters about their life and work. Individual works of the examined authors are subjected to genre analysis, based on knowledge from the theoretical part of the work; at the same time, based on a comparative approach, these texts are placed in the context of contemporary world crime fiction. They are compared not only with the key works of world writers, but also with each other within the examined Prague authors, whereby the construction of that genre-specific image of the 'other' Prague German literature acquires breadth and layering. The chapters on the examined authors are interspersed with several excursuses, which focus on other contemporary (not only) Prague authors and their texts belonging to the genre of crime fiction.
