Tato bakalářská práce představuje v první části život posledního rakousko-uherského císaře Karla I., přičemž se především zaměřuje na dobu jeho vlády mezi lety 1916 a 1918, ve druhé části se zabývá jeho obrazem v historiografii. Vybráno bylo celkem pět témat z císařova života, která jsou popsána a srovnána na základě knih čtyř historiků z období krátce po Karlově smrti (z 20. let 20. století) a ze začátku 21. století. Cílem práce je odpovědět na otázku, jaký byl život posledního rakousko-uherského císaře a jak je zobrazován v historiografii.This bachelor thesis introduces in the first part the life of the last Austro-Hungarian emperor Karl I, focusing primarily on the period of his reign between 1916 and 1918, the second part deals with his image in the historiography. It was chosen in total five themes from the emperor´s life, which are described and compared based on the books of four historians from the period shortly after Karls´ death (from the 20s of the 20th century) and from the beginning of the 21st century. The aim of the thesis is to answer the question of what the life of the last Austro-Hungarian emperor was like and how it is depicted in the historiography.
