Závěry: Děti s poruchou aktivity a pozornosti mají horší skóre oproti kontrolní skupině v sociální kognici v oblasti rozpoznávání emocí, dále pak v testech exekutivních a pozornostních funkcí (zejména pak ve zvýšené chybovosti).Theoretical background: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is associated with a number of cognitive deficits, behavioral and social-communication difficulties. The combination of attention-executive difficulties with social cognition dysfunction can lead to serious consequences in everyday life, including social exclusion or psychiatric comorbidities. The aim of this work is to map social cognition in children with attention and activity disorders. Methods: Children aged 6-18 years with ADHD (n=29, 76% male) and a control group of children (n=30, 77% male) were administered the comprehensive Neuropsychological Battery for Children (NB-D), which includes tests on social cognition (Emotion Recognition and Theory of Mind), attention (Auditory and Visual Attention) and executive function (Sort Test, Verbal Fluency, Inhibition, Prospective and Working Memory). Results: The results of the Mann-Whitney U test showed that children with ADHD differ significantly in their performance compared to the control group in the following tests: Recognition of emotions (p=0.05), and in tests of executive functions (p=0.02-0.04 ) and attention functions (for error scores, p=0.03) and in the Comprehension of Instructions test (p<0.001). In theory of mind, groups do not differ from each other. Conclusions: Children with activity and attention disorders have worse scores compared to the control group in social cognition in the area of emotion recognition, as well as in tests of executive and attention functions (especially in increased error rates).
