Bakalářská práce si dává za cíl zanalyzovat a porovnat romány Pokání od Iana McEwana a Matka Noc od Kurta Vonneguta. Teoretická část této práce obsahuje přehled postmoderní literární teorie a jejích technik. Praktická část této práce se soustředí na porovnání struktury děl, jejich užití postmoderních literárních technik a sdílených motivů viny, pravdy a pokání.This thesis aims to analyse and compare the novels Atonement (2001) by Ian McEwan and Mother Night (1961) by Kurt Vonnegut. The theoretical part of the thesis provides an overview of postmodern literary theory and its techniques. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the comparison of structure, usage of postmodern literary techniques as well as common motifs of guilt, truth, and penance in the novels.
