El objetivo de la tesina fue presentar los rasgos típicos del realismo mágico y la religión yoruba utilizados en la obra cubana contemporánea en los tiempos del "período especial", especialmente en la novela El hombre, la hembra y el hambre de Daína Chaviano. La primera parte de la tesina se enfocará en la situación cubana durante la crisis económica, el estudio teórico del realismo mágico y la presentación de la religión yoruba, la santería. La segunda parte se dedicará al análisis de la novela mencionada, en la cual se mostrarán las características de la primera parte.The objective of the thesis was to present the typical features of magical realism and Yoruba religion used in contemporary Cuban work in the times of the "special period", especially in the novel El hombre, la hembra y el hambre by Daína Chaviano. The first part of the thesis will focus on the Cuban situation during the economic crisis, the theoretical study of magical realism and the presentation of the Yoruba religion, santería. The second part will be dedicated to the analysis of the mentioned novel, in which the characteristics of the first part will be shown.
