Ve své práci se zabývám monitoringem aktivity a chování křečka polního v přírodní příměstské populaci v Olomouci-Holici a vyhodnocením vlivu výšky vegetace na aktivitu a chování jedinců této populace. Má studie navazuje na dlouholetý výzkum vedený Katedrou Ekologie a Životního Prostředí Přírodovědecké Fakulty Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci započatý v roce 2002. Monitoring populace byl prováděn po dobu sezón 2019 a 2020 pomocí automatického registračního systému a fotopastí. Zároveň byla populace sledována metodou capture mark recapture, kdy byli odchycení jedinci očipováni a následně vypuštěni. V průběhu monitoringu bylo získáno 2331 záznamů. Výsledky této práce ukazují značnou sezónní proměnlivost aktivity s nejvyšším zastoupením denní aktivity v době úsvitu a soumraku. The aim of my thesis was to monitor the activities and behavior of the natural suburban population of the European hamster in Olomouc-Holice and evaluating the influence of the vegetation height on the activity and behavior of individuals. My thesis follows up with the long-term research, which has been conducted by the the Department of Ecology and the Environmental Sciences, the Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc since 2002. The monitoring of the population was provided during 2019 and 2020 seasonal periods using the automatic registration system and camera traps. Meanwhile I used the capture methods of capture-mark-recapture, when captured individuals were tagged and subsequently released. During monitoring 2.331 records were obtained. The results proved the significant seasonal variable activity with the highest proportion of the daily activity at dawn and dusk. During the second season, the research focused on the effect of the vegetation height on the activity and behavior. Near the burrows with low vegetation, the activity after the first intervention decreased sharply compared to the control areas. The high of the vegetation harvest had significantly influenced the Hamster activity only during the day. The incidence of the vigilant behavior increased by 13% on the areas with low vegetation. The results of my research can be applied as the conservation measures to protect of the endangered population of European hamster.
