Tématem tohoto výzkumu je analýza potenciálních závazků České republiky z členství v Severoatlantické alianci a modelu Evropské obranné unie. Za tímto účelem byla stanovena hypotéza, která předpokládá, že členství v obou organizacích bude způsobovat vzájemné rozpory v oblasti vybraných závazků. Pro účely této práce byl autorem vytvořen model Evropské obrané unie. Při tvorbě tohoto modelu autor částečně vycházel z Pařížské smlouvy z roku 1952, kterou se mělo ustanovit evropské obranné společenství. Zároveň vzal v potaz nejnovější trendy v oblasti obrany na evropském kontinentu a využil politologickou teorii konstruktivismu. V průběhu výzkumu autor došel k závěrům, které vyvracely hypotézy o vzájemné rozporu právních závazků, které by pro Českou republiku plynuly z členství v obou organizacích.The topic of this research is the analysis of potential obligations of the Czech Republic from the membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the model of the European Defence Union. To this end, a hypothesis was established which assumes that membership in both organizations will cause mutual inconsistencies in the area of selected commitments. For the purpose of this thesis, the European Defence Union model was developed by the author. In developing this model, the author took an inspiration from the Treaty of Paris (1952), which was intended to establish a European Defence Community. At the same time, he took into account the latest trends in the field of defence on the European continent and used the political theory of constructivism. In the course of the research, the author reached conclusions that refuted the hypotheses of mutually contradictory legal obligations that would result for the Czech Republic from membership in both organisations.
