Přehledová bakalářská práce sumarizuje nejaktuálnější poznatky, které byly publikovány o problematice mužů pracujících na pozici všeobecné sestry. Profese všeobecné sestry, je v dnešní době vnímána jako převážně ženské povolání a role mužů bývá často bagatelizována. Muži se tak při výkonu tohoto povolání mnohdy setkávají s různými stereotypy, které se formovaly v průběhu historie, spolu s ošetřovatelskou profesí. Bakalářská práce prezentuje strategie pro navýšení počtu mužů na pozici všeobecných sester, které byly v minulosti zrealizovány. Shromažďuje motivy, které muže vedou k volbě ošetřovatelského povolání. Dále také sumarizuje pozitivní i negativní zkušenosti mužů během studia oboru všeobecné sestry a samotného výkonu povolání se zaměřením na genderové rozdíly mezi muži a ženami. V poslední části bakalářská práce shrnuje benefity, které by z vyššího zastoupení mužů vyplývaly. Dohledané poznatky byly čerpány z databází: Medvik, EBSCO a PubMed. Celkem bylo ke tvorbě přehledové bakalářské práce použito 29 zdrojů.This thesis summarizes the most recent researches, that were published about men in the nursing profession. The nursing profession is widely perceived as a feminine occupation and the role of men is often overlooked. This leads to the fact, that men have to deal with many stereotypes. This stereotypes were formed in the past, together with the nursing profession itself. The bachelor thesis presents some of the recruiting strategies, that were carried out in the past. It summarizes the motivating factors, that bring men into the nursing profession. It collects the positive and negative experiences of men in nursing faculties and the occupation itself, with an emphasis on the gender differences between men and women. The last part summarizes some of the benefits that a higher number of men in the nursing profession would implicate. The findings were found in the databases: Medvik, EBSCO, PubMed. A total of 29 sources was used.
