Práce se věnuje problematice řízení nákladních vozidel staršími profesionálními řidiči v souvislosti s trendem stárnutí pracovní populace a dalšími faktory. Teoretická část práce se dělí do tří kapitol vymezující nákladní silniční dopravu, požadavky na řidiče, vzájemný vztah seniorů a nákladních vozidel, motivaci k výkonu povolání řidiče a pozitivní i negativní dopady do života staršího člověka. Výzkum mapuje motivaci seniorů k setrvání na pozici profesionálního řidiče, výhody a nevýhody výkonu povolání. Kvalitativní design přinesl data z 20 polostrukturovaných interview s aktivními profesionálními řidiči nad 60 let v mezinárodní nákladní silniční dopravě. Výsledky ukazují, že hlavní motivací pro výkon povolání řidiče je splnění si snu, koníček, užitečnost, potřebnost, pokračování v dřívější práci, poznávání světa a lidí a finanční motivace. Pozitivně vnímají pocit soukromí a svobody, pohodu, klid, "být svým pánem" či útěk před nudou. Negativně prožívají zhoršování zdravotního stavu, řidičský stres, spěch, samotu, bezohlednost, špatný stav silnic, vysoké nároky práce a časté kontroly. Většina řidičů chce ve své práci zůstat, řídí rádi a cítí se užiteční.The thesis deals with the issue of driving trucks by senior professional drivers in connection with the aging trend of the working population and other factors. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into three chapters, which define road freight, requirements for drivers, the relationship between seniors and trucks, motivation to pursue the profession of driver and positive and negative impacts on the lives of older people. The research maps the motivation of seniors to remain a professional driver, the advantages and disadvantages of performing a profession. Qualitative design brought data from 20 semi-structured interviews with active professional drivers over 60 years in international road freight. The results show that the main motivation for the driver's profession is to fulfill a dream, hobby, usefulness, need, continuation of previous work, getting to know the world and people and financial motivation. They perceive positively a feeling of privacy and freedom, well-being, peace, "being their master" or an escape from boredom. They experience a negative deterioration of their health, driving stress, rush, loneliness, ruthlessness, poor road conditions, high work demands and frequent inspections. Most drivers want to stay in their jobs, like to drive and feel useful.
