The thesis aimed to identify the influence of chronological age on jump- landing biomechanics in adolescent footballers. The research sample included 31 players in U14 (n = 18) and U16 (n = 13) age groups. Their landing biomechanics was evaluated over the course of three consecutive years, using the Single Leg Countermovement Jump Test for vertical jump. The jump was recorded from the sagittal and frontal planes by two video cameras. Based on the footage, the landing biomechanics was assessed according to the Landing Error Scoring System (LESS), a standardized scale to assess landing biomechanics. The monitored parameters included the total LESS score, the presence of lower limb and torso deviations on the frontal plane when landing, and the landing stiffness. Both in U14 and U16 age groups, the measurement results proved that the landing biomechanics improved as the chronological age increased. In the second year of the measurement, a significant decrease in the LESS score was identified, compared with the first year, in U14 age group (p = 0.010, d = 0.77). In the third year of the measurement, a significant decrease in the LESS score was identified, compared with the first year, in U16 age group (p = 0.024, d = 0.79). There was a significant difference when U14 players were compared with U18 players (p = 0.001, d = 1.21). In terms of landing stiffness, there were significantly lower average values both in the second (p = 0.006, d = 0.91) and third year of the measurement (p = 0.005, d = 0.92), compared with the first year, in U14 age group, and in the third year (p = 0.033, d = 0.82), compared with the first year, in U16 age group. An influence of the chronological age on the presence of axial lower limb and torso deviations on the frontal plane, when landing, has not been proved.
