Hlavným cieľom bakalárskej práce je pomocou použitej literatúry a zdrojov analyzovať obraz Číny v textoch českého misionára Josefa Zemana a hlbšie rozobrať témy, ktorými sa autor vo svojich textoch zaoberá. Práca sa okrem iného venuje aj obdobiu kresťanských misií v Číne na začiatku 20. storočia, teda obdobiu, kedy v Číne samotný misionár pôsobil. Témy orientalizmu a postkoloniálnej literatúry sú aplikované pri už spomínanej analýze textov Josefa Zemana. V neposlednom rade taktiež dochádza ku komparácii obrazu Číny v textoch Zemana s textami iných cestovateľov pôsobiacich v Číne v približne rovnakom časovom období.The main aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the image of China in the texts of the Czech missionary Josef Zeman on the basis of the used literature and sources and to analyze in more depth the topics which the author deals with in his texts. Among other things, the work deals with the period of Christian missions in China at the beginning of the 20th century, ie the period when the missionary himself worked in China. The themes of orientalism and postcolonial literature are applied in the already mentioned analysis of texts by Josef Zeman. Last but not least, the image of China in Zeman's texts is also compared with the texts of other travelers working in China at the same time.
