Práce vysvětluje základní logické principy pro pochopení argumentu consequentia mirabilis jakožto typu argumentu reductio ad absurdum, jenž stojí na triviálním sebe-vyvrácení. Zabývá se užitím argumentu consequentia mirabilis jako obrany proti skepticismu a věnuje pozornost přístupům myslitelů k relevantní části jejich filosofie logiky. Dále rozebírá počátky formování tohoto argumentu u Aristotela, Platóna, Aurelia Augustina, Reného Descarta a dále detailněji analyzuje sebe-vyvracející argument Hilaryho Putnama, u něhož se zaměřuje nejen na logickou část jeho argumentu, nýbrž analyzuje i jeho kontext s cílem zjistit, zdali je jeho argument jako reductio ad absurdum vůbec consequentia mirabilis. Tématem této práce je také zhodnotit legitimitu použití consequentia mirabilis a triviálních logických úsudků jakožto nástrojů pro vyvracení ontologického nebo epistemologického skepticismu.The present thesis explains the fundamental logical principles for understanding the consequentia mirabilis argument as a type of the reductio ad absurdum argument which is based on trivial self-refutation. The paper explores the use of the consequentia mirabilis argument as a tool for the defence against scepticism, simultaneously describing certain philosophical approaches relevant to the parts of their philosophy of logic. The thesis further proceeds to the origins of the said argument in the works of Aristotle, Plato, Aurelius Augustinus and René Descartes. The subsequent parts of the text are concerned with an in-depth analysis of Hilary Putnam's self-refuting argument; the latter's logical part as well as its context are analysed in alignment with the goal of discovering whether Putnam's argument as an argument reductio ad absurdum can ever be consequentia mirabilis. Among the issues of the present thesis there also is the evaluation of legitimacy of applying consequentia mirabilis alongside trivial logical assertions as mechanisms capable of refuting ontological or epistemological scepticism.
