Výzkum definuje styčné body i unikátnost otome komunity v kontextu kultury japonských otaku žen, neboli fanynek různých žánrů japonské populární kultury. The thesis deals with the community of Japanese otome gamers. These are heterosexual young girls and women who play otome games, or Japanese video games with romantic themes targeting a female audience. Using methods of affective ethnography and qualitative interviewing, I explore and describe this community with a particular focus on female otome gamers situated in Tokyo. The research defines both the shared points and uniqueness of the otome community in the context of the culture of Japanese otaku women, or female fans of various genres of Japanese popular culture.
