BSMV.Fungal pathogens, most importantly Blumeria graminis, which is responsible for powdery mildew disease, cause worldwide yield losses of economically important cereals, such as barley and wheat. A study of interactions between those pathogens and their hosts still brings up new information about wide range of effector proteins, expressed from pathogens virulence genes as well as about specific resistance genes in hosts, which can recognise these proteins and prevent infection. Validation of virulence genes and corresponding resistance genes represents a key role in production of resistance barely cultivars. One of validation tools is use of viral vectors such as BSMV.
