Cieľom diplomovej práce je porovnanie vyobrazovania pomstychtivých duchov onrjó vo vybraných povestiach secuwa z Kondžaku monogatarišú a onrjó z diela Tókaidó Jocuja kaidan a zistenie, či došlo k posunu vo vyobrazovaní onrjó v týchto dielach. Hlavným predmetom porovnávania sú dôvody premeny postáv na onrjó, ich zámer, vzhľad a spoločenské postavenie, čas a miesto objavovania sa, ako aj ich schopnosti a spôsob pomsty. Práca obsahuje definíciu kľúčových pojmov onrjó, secuwa a kabuki, ako aj charakteristiku diel Kondžaku monogatarišú a Tókaidó Jocuja kaidan s cieľom lepšieho pochopenia oboch diel a umožnenia analýzy postáv pomstychtivých duchov onrjó. Onrjó z Kondžaku monogatarišú som rozdelila na dve skupiny - ženských a mužských onrjó, pretože ich porovnávam s ženským duchom Oiwy a s mužským duchom Koheia z diela Tókaidó Jocuja kaidan. Práca obsahuje analýzu postáv ženských onrjó z troch príbehov a mužských onrjó taktiež z troch príbehov Kondžaku monogatari, ako aj ich spoločný obraz pre uľahčenie porovnávania s postavami Oiwy a Koheia. Záverečnú kapitolu práce tvorí samotné porovnanie onrjó z oboch diel a analýza vplyvu budhizmu na postavy pomstychtivých duchov onrjó a na obe diela.The main goal of the thesis is a comparison of depiction of the vengeful ghosts onryo in the selected setsuwa legends from Konjaku Monogatarishu and the onryo from Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan and also finding out whether there is a shift in the depiction of onryo in these works. The main subjects of the comparison are the reasons the characters have changed into onryo, their aim, their appearance and social status, the time and the place of appearing and also their powers and the way of revenge. The thesis contains the definition of the main terms which are onryo, setsuwa and kabuki and also the characteristics of Konjaku Monogatarishu and Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan with purpose of better understanding both works and also with purpose of better analyzing the characters of the vengeful ghosts onryo. I divided the onryo from Konjaku Monogatarishu into two groups, female and male onryo, because I'm comparing them with the female ghost of Oiwa and the male ghost of Kohei from Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan. The thesis contains the analysis of the female onryo from three stories and the male onryo also from three stories of Konjaku Monogatarishu and two chapters where I analyze the common traits of these ghosts in order to make the comparison with Oiwa and Kohei easier. The closing chapter contains the comparison of the onryo from Konjaku Monogatarishu and Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan and the analysis of the influence of Buddhism on the characters of the vengeful ghosts onryo and both works.
