Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na mocenské soupeření Saúdské Arábie a Íránu. Na základě teorie strukturálního realismu, který se dále dělí na ofenzivní a defenzivní realismus, se autor snaží určit chování obou aktérů dle zmíněné teorie. Hlavním cílem práce je analyzovat chování obou aktérů od počátku Arabského jara během války v Jemenu a války v Sýrii. Další oblasti výzkumu jsou mocenské soupeření v Iráku a Libanonu, íránský jaderný program a investice obou států do armády. Na základě analýzy je chování Saúdské Arábie během Arabského jara charakterizováno jako defenzivní a chování Íránu jako ofenzivní.The Bachelor thesis is focused on the power rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Based on the theory of structural realism, which is further divided into the offensive and defensive realism, the author tries to determine the behaviour of both actors according to the given theory. The main goal of the thesis is to analyse the behaviour of both actors since the beginning of Arab spring, during the Yemen war, the Syrian war. The next areas of research are power rivalry in Iraq and Lebanon, the Iranian nuclear program, and military expenditure. Based on the analysis, the behaviour of Saudi Arabia during the Arab spring is characterized as defensive and behaviour of Iran as offensive.
