Tato práce se zaměřuje na zhodnocení aktuálního přístupu studentů Univerzity Palackého k fenoménem plýtvání potravin. K analýze bylo použito dotazníkové šetření, obsahující otázky na nakupovací návyky, zacházení s odpady a teoretické znalosti. Bylo zjištěno, že studenti problematiku vnímají jako celosvětový problém, který je potřeba řešit a mají ji nejvíce spojenou s vyhazováním potravin spotřebiteli. Dle studentů jsou nejčastější příčiny ekonomický blahobyt a špatné hospodaření s potravinami. Nejvíce vyhazují zbytky připravených potravin díky plísni do směsného komunálního odpadu. Nejvíce vyhazují ženy studentky Filozofické fakulty nejméně muži studenti fakulty Přírodovědecké.The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the current stance to food waste of University of Palacky's students. The analysis involved a questionnaire, comprised of questions about shopping habits, waste treatment and theoretical knowledge. It was found out that the students perceive the food waste as a global issue, which has to be dealt with. Furthermore, they mostly connected the issue with the food waste of consumers. According to the students the most frequent causes are economic prosperity and wrong food management. Leftovers, which are thrown away the most are the cooked meals, which got mouldy and which are subsequently getting rid of to the municipal solid waste. Women from faculty of Philosophy are throwing away the most, men from faculty of Science the least.
