Lesbické ženy tvoří spolu s dalšími menšinovými pohlavně orientovanými či jinak sexuálně odlišnými subpopulacemi neoddělitelnou součást naší společnosti a adekvátní lékařská péče o ně vyžaduje znalost určitých specifických faktorů a rizik, spojených s jejic orientací, sexuálním chováním a životním stylem. Jelikož na lesbické a bisexuální populaci žen nebyl dosud proveden v českých podmínkách žádný obdobný výzkum, věnující se odlišnostem péče o lesbické ženy, rozhodli jsme se alespoň částečně toto bílé místo zaplnit a zmapovat, jak jsou na tom české lesby a bisexuálky v oblasti porodnicko- gynekologické a sexuologické péče. Porovnáním skupiny 102 heterosexuálních a 102 lesbických či bisexuálních žen jsme zmapovali odlišnosti v této oblasti u české populace. Výsledky našeho výzkumu poukázaly na určité odlišnosti v péči o populaci lesbických a bisexuálních žen. Naše práce přinesla alespoň základní informace o odlišnostech v péči o lesbické a bisexuální ženy oproti ženám heterosexuálním v našich podmínkách a může zároveň posloužit jako studijní materiál pro odborný zdravotnický personál pro zkvalitnění péče o naše pacienty.Lesbians together with other sexual minorities and sexually different subpopulations form an integral part of our society and adequate medical care for them requires the knowledge of certain specific factors and risks associated with their orientation, sexual behaviour and their lifestyle. Regarding the fact that no scientific research has been performed on the Czech lesbian and bisexual population of women focusing on differences in care for lesbians, the authors of the present paper decided to fill this gap and investigate a group of Czech lesbians and bisexual women. The authors focused on the situation in the area of obstetrical-gynaecological and sexological care. By comparing the group of 102 heterosexual and 102 lesbian or bisexual women, we mapped the differences in this area in the Czech population. The results of the research pointed to some differences in care for the population of lesbians and bisexual women. This study has provided some basic information about the differences in medical care between lesbians and bisexual women and heterosexuál women in the Czech Republic and that it may serve as a resource for healthcare professionals in order to improve patient care.
