Disertační práce řeší problematiku vztahující se jak k oboru pedagogika (se zaměřením na edukaci seniorů), tak i k teorii a praxi ošetřovatelství. Disertační práce je zaměřena na zjištění úrovně znalostí, dovedností a postojů sester v edukaci pacientů seniorského věku, včetně zjištění, jakým způsobem se tyto proměnné promítají do reality klinické praxe. Jejím východiskem bylo zkoumání edukačních strategií sester zaměřené na pacienty v seniorském věku a jejich promítání do reality klinické praxe. Objektem výzkumu byly edukační sestry poskytující tzv. specializovanou a úzce specializovanou edukaci. Výzkumný vzorek byl záměrný, tvořily ho sestry, které jsou začleněné do projektu s názvem Edukační sestra ve Fakultní nemocnici Olomouc. Paralelním cílem disertační práce, orientovaným na pedagogickou praxi, bylo vypracovat návrh doporučení pro praxi a doporučení k metodice edukačních intervencí u pacientů v seniorském věku. Svým zaměřením téma disertační práce reflektuje současné aktuální potřeby gerontagogiky (geragogiky). Z hlediska potřebnosti zkvalitnění kompetencí sester a jejich edukačních intervencí při práci s pacienty v seniorském věku považujeme téma disertační práce za velmi žádoucí. Práce může být inspirací pro osoby, které rozhodují o působení a vzdělávání samotných sester pro edukci pacientů - seniorů, či samotní realizátoři vzdělávacích aktivit pro sestry v edukaci pacientů - seniorů; ale hlavně ti, kteří realizují, či nějakým způsobem určují nebo ovlivňují reálné edukační procesy v ošetřovatelské praxi.This dissertation thesis deals with the issue related both to the field of pedagogy (aimed at education of elderly patients) and to the nursing theory and practice. The thesis is focused on finding out the level of knowledge, skills and attitudes of nurses-educators while working with elderly patients, including how these variables are projected into the reality of clinical practice. The starting point was to explore the teaching strategies of nurses-educators focused on elderly patients and to find out how they are projected into the reality of clinical practice. The nurses-educators providing so-called specialized or narrowly specialized education were the object of the research. The research sample was intentional, involving nurses participating in the project titled Edukační sestra ve Fakultní nemocnici Olomouc (Nurse-educator in University Hospital Olomouc). The parallel goal of the thesis, aimed at the pedagogical practice, was to provide recommendations for practice and recommendations for the methodology of teaching interventions in elderly patients. The thesis focuses on reflecting the current needs of geragogy (geragogics). Concerning the need to improve the quality of nurses´ competencies and their educating interventions while working with the elderly patients, we consider the topic of this thesis crucial. The thesis can be inspirational for those managing the work and education of nurses educating the elderly patients, or for managers organizing educational activities for nurses in teaching elderly patients, but in particular for those who determine or influence real educational processes in nursing practice.
