This master's thesis is fully based the author's personal volunteering experience in Nepal under the university internship programme. The experience is presented in an autoetnographical manner in the form of diary entries collected throughout the author's stay in Nepal. The aim of the study is to interpret this experience. To process the data, the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used, which allowed the author to deconstruct the text and to interpret the individual topics that form the thesis' main chapters. The topics are volunteering, its contents and objectives and the specifics of trekking in Nepalese mountains. The topic of living in Nepal is present in both of the main chapters.
